Heterosexuality: a Lesbian Feminist Approach

Sexuality is not just about who you love. For women, and especially for lesbians, it’s political! If we look through a feminist lens at the social construction of sexuality, we start asking questions like: “Is sexuality socially constructed?”, What is a heterosexual woman?” and “To what degree can separatism be a solution?” Come for an evening of analysis and discussion inspired by the essay Compulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Existence by Adrienne Rich (1980).
The presentation will be in English, and the discussion will be in English and German (with translation).

Beim Thema Sexualität geht es nicht nur um die Frage, wen wir lieben. Für Frauen und besonders für Lesben ist das Thema politisch! Wenn wir durch eine feministische Brille einen Blick auf das Thema Sexualität werfen, ergeben sich Fragen wie zum Beispiel “Ist Sexualität gesellschaftlich konstruiert?”, “Was ist eine heterosexuelle Frau?” und “Inwieweit ist Separatismus eine Lösung?” Kommt zu einem Abend mit Analyse und Diskussion, inspiriert von Adrienne Richs berühmtem Essay Zwangsheterosexualität und lesbische Existenz (1983).
Der Vortrag wird auf Englisch sein, die Diskussion auf Deutsch und Englisch (mit Übersetzung).
